Braised Red Cabbage

Based on Braised Red Cabbage with Apple and Onion from Martha Stewart

Ingredients:
1 Tbsp butter
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 fuji apple, cored and chopped
1 head of red cabbage, cored and chopped in strips
salt and pepper
4 tsp sugar
3 tsp red wine vinegar
1/2 cup water

Instructions:
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. When the butter is melted, throw in chopped onion and apple. Cook until the onion begins to become translucent. Add cabbage, seasoned with salt and pepper, sugar red win vinegar, and water to the pot. Bring the liquid to a boil and then simmer for 20 minutes until the cabbage cooks down. Pairs well with pork chops.
